Create Floating IP
Updated on 08 Dec 2023

Floating IP is used to reserve a Public IP and route access from the internet to a virtual machine. To allow the virtual machine to be accessible from the internet, you need to assign a Floating IP to it. If it is no longer necessary or you want to change the endpoint, you can easily redirect the Floating IP to another virtual machine within the same VPC with a few simple steps.

Create a Floating IP from the Network without going through the Database cluster - Used to create a new Floating when users have disconnected the created Public IP or from the Database cluster when pressing instance does not show Allocate at Floating IP.

Step 1: From the Sidebar Menu > select Networking > click Floating IPs > click Allocate IP address.

Step 2: In the Allocate Floating IP pop-up, users enter the necessary information:

  • IP Address: Users choose a suitable address from the provided list. In the event that there is no pool, customers should contact support to be assigned additional pools.

  • Instance: Users select the name of the Database cluster that they need to allocate the floating IP from the available list.

  • IP Port: Enter the Port number of the Database cluster assigned in Security.

  • Instance Port: Enter a port number, either similar to IP port or another port number that is memorable.

Step 3: Check the created Allocate Floating IP information by navigating to Menu > Networking > Floating IPs > check the Public IP information with the Active status.

Step 4: After successfully allocate the Floating IP, its IP address information will be displayed in the Database cluster.

After obtaining the Floating IP address, users can use this IP address to connect to the Database.
